Stephanie Northcutt,
Voice Teacher

Stephanie Northcutt maintains an active professional singing career and has performed a wide range of operatic roles, oratorio and recital performances throughout the United States and Europe. Stephanie completed her undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University (B.M.E.) and her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Sam Houston State University.  As a director, Stephanie began her journey during college and graduate school directing and choreographing various Performing Arts Troupes and Camps. Credits include: Performing Arts Camps of America, Encore Youth Performers, Pop Star Performers, Classical Symposium, and is currently the Artistic Director of First Stage: a summer musical workshop in Sienna Plantation, Texas. In the summer of 2019, Stephanie joined the team of Adams Davy in the “Arts for Autism” concert on Broadway as creative director for their Les Misérables showcase.

 In Opera, she held several prestigious artist residencies, including Portland Opera's Performing Institute, Caramoor Festival, Minnesota Opera, Chautauqua Opera, American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria and Operafestival di roma.  Recent Performances include a solo recital, “Romantic Rhapsody” presented by FACE in Houston, a duet recital, “Christmas Presents”, the role of “The Bride” in Roger Keele’s American premiere “Jesus, Royal Bridegroom”with Houston’s VOX, a duets recital, “Simply Soprano”, and the Mother in Amahl and the night Visitors.  Past performances include Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly, Micaela in Carmen, Mimi in La Boheme, and Violetta in La Traviata.   Stephanie has also been a frequent Guest Artist at Duke University where she performed “The Last for Songs of Strauss”, The Countess in Le nozze di Figaro and was the Soprano Soloist for their performance of the Brahms Requiem.  She maintains her private voice studio in Sienna Plantation of 20 years where she lives with her husband Gary and their two sons, Jake, and Zach.  Stephanie absolutely loves teaching voice and is thrilled to be a part of the RPHS Choir Voice Teacher team!

Rebecca Tann,
Voice Teacher

Rebecca Tann is an FBISD alumni and has taught in FBISD schools since 2013. She holds a Master’s in Vocal Performance from University of Houston and a Bachelors in Music Education and Vocal Performance from Texas Tech University and has her Teacher certification in Music education for grades K-12.  Ms. Tann believes a full understanding of vocal technique is the foundation of a strong and smart singer and strives to help her students find their full potential as artists using visual, kinesthetic, and aural learning.

As a former three year all-stater herself, Ms. Tann enjoys helping students apply technical skills to their all-state music and offering audition tips and tricks to make the All-state process fun and fulfilling! Outside of teaching, Ms. Tann has spent many hours on the opera stage and enjoys teaching acting and performance skills. Ms.Tann is happy to teach any genre of music and has had students focus on music theater, pop, country, praise and worship, and more.

Juan Garza,
Voice Teacher

​Juan Garza, (Baritone) is a native of El Paso, TX. He received his Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Houston and his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Stephen F. Austin State University. 
​
His recent credits include Le nozze di Figaro (Figaro), Orpheus in the Underworld (John Styx),  Hänsel and Gretel (Vater), The Ballad of Baby Doe (Barney), Dinner at Eight (Gustave) at the Moores Opera Center and La bohème (Marcello), M. Choufleuri (Choufleuri), La scala di seta (Blansac) and the world premiere of The Measure of Love (Lt. Sprane) with Operativo Houston. Oratorio credits include solos in Mozart’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Faure’s Requiem, and the Seven Last Words of Christ by Dubois. 
Equally as comfortable in music theater, his roles include The Most Happy Fella (Joe), Catered Affair (Mr. Halloran), Into the Woods (Baker) to name a few. His awards include winner of the 2017 SFA Concerto/Aria Competition and a four-time finalist at the Texoma Regional NATS auditions and a two-time finalist at the Rio Grande District NATS auditions. 

Many of Mr. Garza’s students have won Sweepstakes at UIL State Solo and Ensemble, earned a place in the Texas All-State Choir, and received Tommy Tune Awards. He is a proponent of students taking ownership of their own progression and learning through mindful practice and application, as this instils lifelong skills and a love for music.
